Duopoly In the 1960's.
This was referred to the 'golden age'
the advantages to the 2 programmes:
- There was only 2 programmes so intern it was good content you was watching and not just random stuff.
- They never took each others ideas apart from Eastenders and coronation Street they took each others story lines.
- if you wanted to watch a pacific thing you didn't have to channel surf it was on either one channel or the other.
- because there was only 2 programmes it would have brought the standards up because they was trying to beat each other so it could have made it more interesting for people to watch.
Disadvantages:
- It could be a bit boring if you didn't like either things that was on the channels.
- there was no target audience.
Good points and great work on your ITV/BBC revision research. Well done.
